I believe that every company should have a Chief Financial Officer. Not all companies can afford to hire a senior level executive on a full time basis. I offer CFO advisory services, exit strategy services, mergers and acquisitions advisory services, executive financial leadership and other services as a contract employee  that is more cost effective than hiring a CFO full time. 

I offer these services to closely held businesses and not for profit entities. My unique experience with both types of businesses (as auditor, CFO, board member) gives me insight into the ever changing needs in today’s rapidly changing environment.

Ed’s Biography

I have over 23 years of experience in public accounting and as the CFO and Controller for businesses ranging from small, closely held companies to multi-company international and domestic holding companies. My client base was very diverse when I practiced as a CPA and included companies with incomes ranging from $5-$100 million.

A Central New York native, I have been involved both operationally and in financial positions of various businesses including insurance holding companies, agencies and third party administrators, software developers, clothing and other manufacturers, healthcare providers (including hospitals and physician groups), financial institutions, human services, and others. I also worked in the construction industry with family and friends and advises them to this day. He has worked closely with small businesses throughout his career and understands the issues that they face every day.

My  approach is to facilitate financial systems with integrity, through effective use of information technology. This allows for timely and accurate financial reporting for the businesses owners, bankers and other vested parties.

My areas of expertise are:

  • Mergers and Acquisitions, Due Diligence related to those transactions

  • Cost Accounting- including project accounting
  • Analysis-Financial, Operational, Mergers and Acquisitions.

  • Relationship management including staff ( development and team building), banking, creditor, customers and others

My experience allows me to quickly understand the problems and offer solutions to many of the problems that companies face in today’s rapidly changing environment. I can be an effective liaison between management and staff of the company as well as outside entities (investors, banks, regulators, and others).

I have been a CPA since 1993 and am member of the American  Society of CPA’s. I am the Past Chair of the Board of Directors for the SUNY Canton Foundation. I also  chair the Audit Committee and am a member of the Finance Committee. I was also a member of the National Motorsports Press Association. I reside in Central Square N.Y. with my wife Christine and have two sons.
